Gibson Hummingbird Pro

The Gibson Hummingbird Pro guitar was first introduced in 1960 as Gibson's earliest square-shoulder dreadnought guitar. A guitar at the leading edge of the acoustic folk boom of the late ’50s and ’60s. and a favorite among legends like Gram Parsons and Keith Richards. The Hummingbird has been one of Gibson Acoustic's most enduring guitar line.

Crafted with solid-mahogany back and sides, solid-Sitka spruce top, and one-piece mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, The Gibson Hummingbird Pro packs premier tonewoods that mirror those of its predecessor from 1960, giving the Hummingbird True Vintage a perfectly balanced midrange tone, with unbiased rich lows and clear treble registers. Selecting the right wood, and the formula to dry it out, are two of the most central procedures to Gibson's guitar-building process.

Gibson Hummingbird Pro
The Gibson Hummingbird Pro carries the classic hardware accompaniment seen of several legendary Gibson flat-tops. A “belly-up” Indian rosewood bridge and bone saddle keep it all tonally true at the business end, while Grover's original Rotomatic tuners are an engineering marvel, with abundant style and performance exactly suited for the Gibson Hummingbird guitar. With a gear ratio of 14:1, the Rotomatics deliver precision tuning in a durable housing that provides maximum protection for the gear and string post. All moving parts are cut for exact meshing, eliminating the possibility of slippage. A countersunk tension screw lets players regulate the tuning tension to any degree. A special lubricant inside the gear box provides smooth and accurate tuning stability.

Meanwhile, a vintage-sunburst finish in hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer, marquetry back stripe, multi-ply top binding and rosette, split-parallelogram inlays, and double-point tortoiseshell pickguard keep it all looking as sweet and sultry as the vintage Hummingbird that inspired it.The Gibson Hummingbird Pro is protected by a Gibson hardshell case with blue plush lining. Each guitar comes with a Gibson Acoustic owner’s manual and a Gibson Gold Warranty.
